Dr Zefiro Mellacqua
Doctor Zefiro Mellacqua trained at the University of Catania Medical School, Italy, qualifying as a Psychiatrist with a special interest in Psychosis.
Over the years he has acquired vast experience in clinical psychiatry and psychopharmacology by actively working with adults suffering from Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Psychosis and Personality Disorders.
He has also completed a training in Transactional Analysis at the Auximon Institute of Transactional Analysis in Rome, Italy, and he is a member of European Association of Transactional Analysis (EATA).
He started working in London as a research fellow with the First Episode Psychosis Group at the Institute of Psychiatry, before deciding to work with a highly motivated and enthusiastic Crisis Resolution Team in South East London.
At present Doctor Zefiro Mellacqua works as Specialty Doctor in General Adult Psychiatry in London – South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.
He is also a Honorary Research Fellow at the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London, where he is involved in a neuroimaging project looking at subtle brain changes in patients at their first episode psychosis.
