Background:
Appointed Consultant Cardiologist with an interest in Angioplasty in 2006 based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital and St Thomas’ Hospital. Specialist training in Cardiology (London Deanery) initially at Greenwich District Hospital then Maidstone Hospital, followed by St Thomas’ Hospital from 1999-2006. Received full training in all aspects of adult cardiology. Successfully awarded a Clinical Research Training Fellowship from the Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charitable Foundation, 2001-2003 in open competition. Two-year research project undertaken assessing the use of non-invasive techniques to quantify cardiovascular risk. Findings presented at national and international cardiovascular scientific meetings. Publications related to this work, collaborative research, drug therapy and stents in peer-reviewed journals. Awarded London Deanery (South Thames) Interventional Cardiology Training Fellowship in open competition 2004-2006 at St Thomas’ Hospital. Fully trained in all aspects of invasive diagnostic and therapeutic techniques.
