Dr Francesco Lo Monaco trained at University of Pavia Medical School in Italy with medical qualification (with Honours) in 1997. In 2003 he completed his Cardiology training (summa cum Laude) in Milan. He worked as Consultant Cardiologist in Milan until 2006, when he moved to New York where he completed his postdoctoral fellowship in Cardiology at the New York Medical College; he published revolutionary researches in cardiac stem cells and presented the findings at the American Heart Association Meeting in New Orleans in 2008. He also qualified in Medicine in the USA.
Since 2009 he has been appointed Associate Specialist Cardiologist at Chelsea and Westminster Trust in West Middlesex University Hospital site.
His main fields of expertise are Clinical Cardiology with subspecialty in Imaging. He treats a wide range of cardiovascular diseases (ischaemic heart disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular heart disease) and performs all the diagnostic tests ranging from exercise tolerance tests to Dobutamine stress tests to CT coronary angiograms.
He is an affiliate Member of the Royal College of Physicians and has been appointed Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Cardiology and Undergraduate Tutor by Imperial College School of Medicine.
